Flavor Research Bursary for I year PhD students - Deadline extended to Nov 30th

Applications for European PhD Flavor Research Award & Bursaries. The programme aims to raise the profile of flavor science research in Europe by encouraging students of differing scientific disciplines to engage in innovating flavor-related research PhD projects and thus to advance the exciting and challenging field of flavor science.

Projects must be designed for the award of PhD or equivalent Projects related to flavor science must have started or will start in academic year 2016/2017 in any European university/Institute The 8 sponsoring companies are: • BIORIGIN • DSM FOOD SPECIALTIES • GIVAUDAN • INTERNATIONAL FLAVORS & FRAGRANCES INC. • KERRY • LESAFFRE INTERNATIONAL • MCLS EUROPE • NESTLE Purpose & Scope of the programme: Award bursaries to a selected number of students who are planning to commence their PhD studies in flavors

United Kingdom, Turkey, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Portugal, Poland, Malta, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Ireland, Hungary, Ghana, France, Finland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Croatia, Bulgaria, Belgium and Austria


You must be from one of the following countries:

You must be studying one of the following:
Technology, Science, Applied Science, Chemistry, Culinary Arts, Agriculture, Psychology and Biology/Life Sciences

The bursary will be used to give the student an extra incentive and make projects attractive to high calibre students. The bursary of EUR 3000 will be awarded to the 6 selected first year PhD students during 2017, based on research-related invoices countersigned by the respective professors. Invoices can relate to expenses such as purchases of equipment, databases, participation in conferences, visits to laboratories, etc. Any unused part of the bursary will be handed over to the respective department of the university/institute. Provide the 6 winning 1st year PhD students with the opportunity of visiting the laboratory of their choice amongst the selected sponsor companies for a period of one week during their second year of their PhD studies, by using a part of their winning bursary amount for their travel and stay. This will enable them to obtain a first-hand view of an industry R&D centre
